Barry Phillips serves as the Director of PowerPlus Preteen Camp.  He is the pastor and worship leader of Fellowship of Porter and a graduate of  Houston Baptist University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  Barry has been a leader in preteen camp planning and development since 1993 - for most of those years working through his local Baptist association.  When Pineywoods Baptist Encampment and its PowerPlus Camps branched out into the exciting world of preteen camp, they asked Barry to apply his prayerful and dedicated guiding hand to the leadership of this ministry.  He and his wife, Sandy, have four terrific children - three grown and one in high school.

Tim Davis is our Camp Co-Director and the Pastor of Bethel Baptist Church in New Caney, Texas.  He is a graduate of East Texas Baptist University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  He and his wife, Julie, have three daughters.  Highly respected for his many years of leadership in Christian youth and children’s camps, Tim serves on the board of trustees of Pineywoods Baptist Encampment and is the Co-Director of  PowerPlus Preteen Camp.  Tim is a creative communicator who leads a very effective ministry that reaches and disciples children, youth and adults and develops leaders in Kingdom service.

Bob Slie is the Youth Pastor at Northside Baptist Church in Huntsville, Texas, and a man of amazing talents.  He is an invaluable part of our team, bringing a gentle and wise pastor’s heart, a wealth of camp experience, and a tireless dedication to excellence.  Bob has served with us in the past as a worship leader and camp pastor.  Bob is a graduate of Texas A&M, and he and his wife, Kim, are the proud parents of two young daughters.

Sarah Bratcher is our Crafts Director.  An experienced preteen camp leader, Sarah offers fun and creative craft activities for kids who want a little break from swimming, running, and canoeing.  She is a member of Bethel Baptist Church in New Caney, Texas.

Liz Braun is our Recreation Director. Liz has served on a preteen camp Rec Staff at Pineywoods every summer since she was a junior in high school. As our Rec Director, Liz leads a team of about 20 carefully selected volunteers who set up and supervise all of our creative, high energy Crazy Rec activities. Because of her personal and spiritual maturity and her years of experience, Liz makes camp recreation fun and inviting to even the most timid of kids, and she maintains a careful regard for safety.

Brenda Ladd is our Special Events Director. She plans the nightly fun event called LOL. A pastor’s wife and mother of three, Brenda brings a gentle heart and motherly wisdom to the Talent Show “try outs” so that the preteens feel validated and loved, not judged. She is married to Gary Ladd,  the pastor of GracePoint Fellowship of Magnolia and our 4th-5th grade camp pastor.
