Most people relate to Barry as pastor of a neighborhood church or a camp director, but he is also a gifted musician and worship leader. An experienced preteen camp musician, Barry has been playing, writing, and leading contemporary Christian music since his high school days. He believes that preteen camp music should express the joy, excitement, and freshness that is found when a person truly lives as a follower of Christ.
Barry is the pastor and worship leader of Fellowship of Porter and a graduate of
Houston Baptist University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and
his wife, Sandy, have four terrific children -
Recently, Barry kicked off a new web based outreach ministry that seeks to share the love of God with adults who have had little or no church experience. You can check it out at www.barryphillipsministries.com.

Because 3rd graders need special care when dealing with spiritual matters, God has
given us a pastor with wisdom, gentleness, and a loving heart to be our 3rd grade
camp pastor. Danny Wendt, the senior pastor of FBC Hempstead, Texas, knows how to
share Jesus with young children without pressure or manipulation. A former Houston
police officer many years ago, God transformed Danny’s life and heart into a man
of God who reflects Jesus in everything he does. A great story teller, Danny has
the gentleness of a father and a grandfather mixed with the joy and excitement of
Jesus -
Many years ago, when several of us on the staff were just getting started in Preteen Camp ministry, Danny Wendt was our camp director, mentor, and friend. Now we have the joy of serving with him as he ministers to your children, and we know that you will love him as much as we do.
